Katty, a member of the KKR team, received an email from a client who came to KKR with a vision but no details – just a picture. This marked the beginning of our journey in creating a magnificent 3.8M custom kitchen island.
Our first task was to dive deeper, guiding our client to define the specific dimensions and color scheme they envisioned.
A Rare Giant in the Market: The 3866 x 1100 x 980mm Island Design
The Huge Size
The result was a commitment to a luxurious design featuring pure white solid surface, precisely measuring 3866 x 1100 x 980m, this kitchen island stands as a colossal structure, a rarity in the market. Its grand size not only makes it a focal point of any space but also a testament to KKR’s ability to craft unique, large-scale solutions that are seldom found elsewhere.
Perfect Match with the Image Color
To achieve a perfect match with the color in the client’s image, we sifted through hundreds of color options. Ultimately, we found the closest match in a sophisticated and classic hue known as ‘Classic Washed Rose’. This meticulous color selection marked the beginning of a detailed and dedicated design process.

3D Design & Drawing
Our CAD department, working in tandem with the client, developed a preliminary draft. This draft was not set in stone; it underwent nearly 8 rounds of revisions, and finally made a 11 pages design drawing for this Island.
Each iteration was a step closer to perfection, ensuring every aspect, including the placement and size of four essential cutouts – the stove, basin, power sockets, and a kitchen sink (KKR-MT20) – was custom-fit to the client’s appliances.
Completion of the Majestic Island: A Showcase of Details
We have successfully completed the island as per the detailed drawings provided. Below are the specifics of this magnificent piece, accompanied by pictures to illustrate the intricate craftsmanship and design:
Precision in Every Cutout
In the creation of this custom kitchen island, attention to detail was paramount. We needed to incorporate four specific cutouts into the design:
- Stove Cutout: A space precisely measured and cut for the stove, essential for the functionality and aesthetics of the island.
- Basin Cutout: This cutout was designed to accommodate the sink, ensuring seamless integration with the countertop.
- Power Socket Cutout: A crucial feature, thoughtfully placed for convenience and safety.
- Kitchen Basin Cutout (KKR-MT20): This required careful adherence to dimensions for perfect fitting, as it needed to be glued onto the countertop.
For each of these cutouts, accuracy was non-negotiable. The dimensions and positioning had to match the blueprint exactly. This was especially true for the stove and power socket cutouts; any deviation, no matter how small, could potentially hinder the installation of the appliances. Our meticulous planning and execution ensured that each cutout was perfectly aligned, allowing for a flawless final installation.
